An executive protection agent is trained to purposefully detect and identify any hostile surveillance on them or their family in public places, their residence, and their business premises.

The term executive protection was coined in the 1970s by the United States Secret Service when they created the Executive Protection Service to guard visiting foreign dignitaries. In the United States, executive protection services are regulated at the state level and in most cases require licensing, insurance, training and, where applicable, require a separate concealed carry weapons permit. Also, The Law Enforcement Officers Safety Act of 2004 (aka HR-218) does not serve as a license for off-duty law enforcement officers to provide executive protective services. Hiring unlicensed, uninsured protection services, including those offered by off-duty law enforcement officers, may create direct liability for a client.

A professional executive protection firm should be able to provide a prospective client with their:

  • State-issued Corporate Business License (HR-218 or status as a retired law enforcement officer does not replace this document).
  • State-issued registration to provide protective services (HR-218 or status as a retired law enforcement officer does not replace this document).
  • Copy of current General Liability Insurance.
  • Copy of current workers Comp. Policy.
  • Copy of Auto Liability Insurance Policy.
  • Personal certificates of initial and ongoing executive protection training for each agent.
  • State-issued registrations to provide protective services for each agent.
  • State-issued registrations allowing the agent to carry weapons for professional use. (HR-218 or status as a retired law enforcement officer does not replace this document).

Executive Risk Assessments, Threat Assessments, & Risk Analysis:

Our approach to executive protection is the fundamental belief that the best protective assistance is an effective and seamless blend of facilitation and security. We consistently demonstrate that executive protection can be a comfortable and seamless element of the private or corporate environment. Our bodyguards and protective consulting services include full-scale risk assessments, threat assessments and protective program development analysis.

A threat assessment is used to discern the risks faced by an individual and to make practical recommendations toward protecting that person. To accurately assess the level of risk faced by someone and to make fact-based recommendations to reduce that risk, it is necessary to conduct an in-depth protective analysis of such areas as the office, home, transportation practices, activities and other areas of vulnerabilities.

Our team of Personal Security Executive Protection Agents carefully analyze all of these factors by site visits, personal interviews, document review and through research into what information outsiders can obtain about the individual’s attractiveness as a target. Our Private Security and Executive Protection Agents and assessment team will then make practical recommendations to protect against risks as well as proactive countermeasures and security practices.

Matching our profile to accommodate yours:

Executives don’t come a dime a dozen. They’re unique people with highly specialized needs. Their assignments are equally distinct in nature. We assess every assignment from the perspective of the people you’ve entrusted us to protect. What you get is a completely customized plan, tailored to the executive profile and purpose of the assignment. We also know that the higher profile the executive, the more vital it is that security personnel themselves maintain a lower profile for reasons of discretion.
